I would argue that cryptocurrency belongs to the category of money as people believe in it and it’s worth. For example 1ETH is ₹101179.63 today. We all believe it’s worth ₹101179.63. And we can trade it for products and services, store it for value. But the problem with it is that there is no central entity backing the worth of it. So it can just as easily collapse if we all lose confidence in ETH and sell it.
